Del Mar Moraira is in a cluster of traditional Spanish restaurants; each with its own unique character, all have white-washed exteriors and terracotta floors, with walls-adorned with objects that speak of Moraira’s fishing heritage, it’s where relaxed customers are seated at antique wooden tables, where friendly staff tempt them with excellent fish, meat and tapas menus; where stolen glances at passing plates and the heady aromas wafting from the busy kitchen tempt the customers into some of the finest food this part of Spain has to offer.
Del Mar Moraira - Sea Bass
As I write this, I can feel my taste buds tingling as I recall the superb Sea bass I had last time I was there. I can smell the garlic, combining with the fresh oils and herbs; I can taste the crisp, fresh white wine, I can hear the relaxing sounds of the sea lapping at the hubs of the yachts moored in Moraira Marina and I can picture the beautiful vista as the sun sets, turning the sky a dark pink and silhouetting the mountains in the distance.

The excellent menu at Del Mar Moraira includes warm and cold starters, fish, seafood, meats and pastas. Their specialities are their fresh fish dishes, boasting fillet of olive crusted cod, served on a bed of Mediterranean couscous or a whole lemon sole, grilled and served with a homemade seasoned butter, or my personal favourite: the seared tuna steak with sweet chilli pineapple. Concluding your meal, Del Mar Moraira has a selection of gorgeous desserts: try a local speciality: Valencian Orange Slices in Cointreau Syrup – they are simply stunning and fantastic end to a delicious meal.
