Moraira Car Hire

Arriving in Teulada Moraira, you can be forgiven for thinking: ‘That’s it. We’ve arrived’, and planning to park the car and not get back into it until the cases are loaded and the drive back to the airport beckons. And that would be okay, such is the town with its cobbled streets, fine architecture, modern bars and superb restaurants. But, you should use your car to explore the other fine towns and villages, attractions and activities this wonderful coastline has to offer.

There are many car hire companies on the Costa Blanca, most have offices located in the arrivals halls at the airports where it is often be very busy and hectic.  Where possible, it is advisable to make your booking in advance of travelling to help speed up the process. Some companies, such as VictoriaCars have their office in the car-park where you pick your car up from. This saves a lot of time.

In choosing a car hire company, there are a number of considerations:

BOOK in advance. Spain is very busy in the summer. Do not leave you car hire rental until the last minute.

CHECK what’s included in the car hire price. Most include insurance, local taxes and unlimited mileage. Some don’t

CHECK you car hire for damage before you leave the airport. It maybe that the previous hirer scratched or damaged the car. If you fail to report this before you leave the airport, the rental company may hold you responsible.

CONFIRM the car has air-conditioning. You will need it.

CONFIRM the excesses. Some car hire companies fees seem very cheap, but they have very high insurance excesses. Make sure you know what they are before agreeing to the hire. It may seem like a good deal to get a 50€ deal for a week, but if a simple bump causes you to have to pay 500€ excess?

DECIDE what your real needs are. Is it best to go for the cheapest, only to find you can’t fit your cases in. The cheapest is rarely the best.

ENSURE the car is safe and secure. Do you need child seats? You should take your own. You can never be certain of the condition of the child seats provided until you see them. It is too late then

ENSURE you book a diesel. It is much cheaper in Spain
