Guadalest – The number one attraction on the Costa Blanca
El Castell de Guadalest, or Guadalest for short, is one of the most interesting and beautiful pueblos in Spain. Perched atop a mountain, with breathtaking views across the valley and down to the Guadalest River from which the town takes its name, the picturesque, white-washed pueblo of Guadalest is a stunning location and is one of the hidden gems of the Marina Alta region on the Costa Blanca, Spain.

Moraira Car Hire
Arriving in Teulada Moraira, you can be forgiven for thinking: ‘That’s it. We’ve arrived’, and planning to park the car and not get back into it until the cases are loaded and the drive back to the airport beckons. And that would be okay, such is the town with its cobbled streets, fine architecture, modern bars and superb restaurants. But, you should use your car to explore the other fine towns and villages, attractions and activities this wonderful coastline has to offer.
There are many car hire companies on the Costa Blanca, most have offices located in the arrivals halls at the airports where it is often be very busy and hectic. Where possible, it is advisable to make your booking in advance of travelling to help speed up the process. Some companies, such as VictoriaCars have their office in the car-park where you pick your car up from. This saves a lot of time.
Follow me for details on great, local car hire companies.
In choosing a car hire company, there are a number of considerations:
BOOK in advance. Spain is very busy in the summer. Do not leave you car hire rental until the last minute.
CHECK what’s included in the car hire price. Most include insurance, local taxes and unlimited mileage. Some don’t
CHECK you car hire for damage before you leave the airport. It maybe that the previous hirer scratched or damaged the car. If you fail to report this before you leave the airport, the rental company may hold you responsible.
CONFIRM the car has air-conditioning. You will need it.
CONFIRM the excesses. Some car hire companies fees seem very cheap, but they have very high insurance excesses. Make sure you know what they are before agreeing to the hire. It may seem like a good deal to get a 50€ deal for a week, but if a simple bump causes you to have to pay 500€ excess?
DECIDE what your real needs are. Is it best to go for the cheapest, only to find you can’t fit your cases in. The cheapest is rarely the best.
ENSURE the car is safe and secure. Do you need child seats? You should take your own. You can never be certain of the condition of the child seats provided until you see them. It is too late then
ENSURE you book a diesel. It is much cheaper in Spain
Teulada Costa Blanca
Teulada Costa Blanca is a typical Spanish town on the Costa Blanca, Spain. Well known for its vineyards and grapes, used in the production of the award-winning Moscatel dessert wines, and it’s orange and almond trees, Teulada is one of the coastal towns that form part of the Marina Alta region.
Teulada is steeped in history: traces of remains, found in a cave on the coast, date back over 20,000 years.
The town of Teulada was founded in 1386 by 52 Christian families who settled here and built the town. For many years, Barbary pirates attacked Teulada and caused the residents to wall the town as a means of fortification. The lookout tower can still be seen on the nearby headland.
Teulada Costa Blanca is sheltered by a large mountain range which results in a moderate climate, with warm summers and mild winters. Teulada enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year and is an excellent base for the independent holidaymaker to use to explore the surrounding towns and villages of the Marina Alta region.
casita-teulada is a local travel company that has a number of holiday apartments to rent. Take a look at our pages to get more information on this charming town and these stunning apartments.
